Worldviews, the New Paradigm, Quantum Physics

After facing, through his legal cases and investigations, some of the darkest and most challenging structures and activities of our government and corporations, Daniel Sheehan began researching and developing new tools and perspectives to help solve these problems. Building on his original study, at Harvard Divinity School, of the five classical worldviews that shape the way that people experience and act in the world, Daniel has expanded the conceptual model to include a total of eight Worldviews.

Practically speaking, an American businessperson cannot have successful business relations in China without understanding the worldview of the Chinese people and of Chinese government officials. One example is that a popular board game in China is the game “Go,” the goal of which is to encircle your opponent. In America we revere the game of chess, the goal of which is to win through a combination of direct moves. This has implications for the way that each perceives what is happening in the world… and the way in which each responds.

Politically, American voters cannot intelligently decide whom to vote for without understanding that there are several different worldviews vying for power. Moreover, the proponents of these worldviews often pretend that they embrace values different from the ones they actually possess. If a politician says that he is a “compassionate conservative”, it does not necessarily mean that he is a conservative nor that his policies are going to be compassionate. Knowledge of the worldviews makes it easier for the voter to sort out what policies candidates will actually bring into being, regardless of their rhetoric. Today, politicians on the extreme are not conservatives in the true meaning of the word; the majority of them in fact hold a reactionary worldview, which is very different. For this reason, many people who grew up in conservative Republican families are confused by “new” conservatives. This is because they are not actually conservatives. They are cling to a reactionary worldview.

Understanding World Views means that more aspects of the truth can be seen and more tools are available for dialogue and negotiation.

Daniel Sheehan is now developing seminars ranging in length from six hours to six weeks to nine months. Because a worldview includes religion, philosophy, political theory, psychology, and many components, this program takes into consideration the role of the human mind, body and spirit, and incorporates all important fields of human thought. The program includes research on Quantum Physics, and the Sixth Paradigm that will emerge from it in the next fifty years. Additionally, Daniel has incorporated the latest sociological research on America’s generations and how they have historically worked together to solve monumental challenges such as the Great Depression and two World Wars.
